A veteran wide receiver is suddenly back in the spotlight. After his team defeated Tom Brady's in a flag football event, the veteran receiver with 59 career-touchdowns (receiving) told reporters this could be his 'starting point' for a return.

During his interaction with Kay Adams at the Fanatics event, the veteran wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. showed his willingness to return to the NFL field. 

"Looking forward to hopefully getting an opportunity to play this year, and hopefully, this is kinda just a starting point," Beckham said.

Famously known by the acronym 'OBJ', Beckham is known for his athleticism and aerobatic catches. Gaining overnight fame with one of the most iconic catches in NFL history against the Dallas Cowboys, and scoring a touchdown. 

At the Fanatics Flag Football Classic (FFFC), he helped beat Tom Brady's Founders FFC 34–26.

His performance in the FFFC showed he can still make plays. The former three-time Pro Bowler was drafted by the New York Giants with the 12th overall pick in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft. 

In his career, he has played for 11 seasons while appearing in 119 games and scoring 59 touchdowns.

Is Odell Beckham Jr. the Right Fit for the Cleveland Browns?

The NFL veteran has already played three seasons with the Browns. He appeared in 29 games and covered 1586 yards between 2019 and 2021. 

However, due to his injuries, his game time was low. Torn ACL in 2020, torn labrum in 2021, and multiple other ankle sprains. He was benched most of the time due to his injuries. 

He had tried to come back in 2023 with the Baltimore Ravens. None of those attempts turned into a success. Odell’s last appearance was back in December 2024 with the Miami Dolphins. 

Meanwhile, the FFFC does not have the fast-paced gameplay of the NFL. If Cleveland sees him as a complementary piece rather than a primary target, the move makes sense.
