Todd Monken Responds to Derrick Henry's Goading Comment Ahead of Divisional Clash

The Cleveland Browns face a crucial Week 6 showdown against the Baltimore Ravens, but this matchup carries an extra storyline. Todd Monken returns to face his former team after serving as Baltimore's offensive coordinator. Although Monken has downplayed the personal angle, Derrick Henry believes his former coach is eager to beat the Ravens.

Henry suggested Monken has been more vocal behind closed doors than in public, hinting that the Browns coach has made his desire to defeat Baltimore clear to his players.

Monken was asked about Henry's remarks and admitted they had reached him repeatedly. However, he dismissed the idea that Sunday's game was personal, emphasising his respect for the players he coached in Baltimore.

"I don't like talking trash. I mean, I saw that. About 18 people sent me that. I mean, I'm not even on social media and you send me it. I've got a ton of respect for Derrick. I loved being around him for two years and those guys. It's another gameweek, it's a divisional game, and it's not personal. It's strictly business."

Despite Monken's response, the familiarity between these teams adds intrigue to an important AFC North contest. Cleveland needs a strong performance to challenge its divisional rivals, and Monken will want his game plan to deliver.

Todd Monken Given Straightforward Offensive Plan Ahead of Ravens Game

Browns reporter Tony Grossi believes the team must involve rookie receiver Denzel Boston more against Baltimore. Grossi called Boston the team's best offensive player and warned Cleveland against relying too heavily on its running game.

"He's the best player on offense. You've got to get him the ball more. You can't rely on the running game."

Getting Boston more targets could provide Cleveland with a much-needed offensive spark. If Todd Monken finds ways to exploit Baltimore through the passing game, the Browns could turn this divisional clash into a statement victory.
