Seahawks OC Klint Kubiak Confirms Exit Just Minutes After Super Bowl Win
Soon after winning the Super Bowl with the Seattle Seahawks, Klint Kubiak, their offensive coordinator, confirmed his exit by taking over the head coach role at the Las Vegas Raiders.
When quizzed by NFL Network’s Stacey Dales, he said, “You guys know I'm going to Las Vegas."I'm fired up about it." When pressed further, Kubiak confirmed: "Hell yeah, I'm going."
This confirms the already ongoing rumors that Kubiak was leaving the Seahawks last week. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, a deal with the Raiders could not be agreed upon until the Super Bowl was over.
On Kubiak’s exit from the Seahawks, many players showered him with praise for his role as their former offensive coordinator.
Jaxon Smith-Njigba said after the win, “Man, they're getting someone special, someone who knows the game, someone who's going to do whatever it takes to win. He's an unbelievable coach. I was honoured to play with him this year. So best of luck to him. We're going to miss him."
In his role as offensive coordinator with the Seattle Seahawks, Kubiak helped an offense led by quarterback Sam Darnold rank third in points per game (28.4). He was a key figure in helping Darnold turn around his career.
"Klint's the man. He's a great person and a really smart guy. I think he's going to do great things in Vegas”, he said.
His exit will no doubt be a bittersweet feeling for the Seahawks players and fans alike, but the Las Vegas Raiders should be hoping he can turn things around for them.
Struggling Las Vegas Raiders look to Klint Kubiak to help them
Klint Kubiak takes over a struggling Las Vegas Raiders team that had a 3-14 record this season, finishing at the bottom of the AFC West standings. His predecessor, Pete Carolll had a miserable season, which led to the firing of their offensive coordinator Chip Kelly and sidelining their star player and defensive end Max Crossby, who may want to leave the Raiders.
The Raiders have been playing roulette with their head coaches, with Kubiak being their third head coach in three seasons. This shows the enormous task he has in hand when he takes over the coming season.
The Las Vegas Raiders do, however, have the No. 1 pick in the 2026 NFL draft, and they are reportedly targeting Indiana Colts quarterback Fernando Mendoza. In tight end Brock Bowers and Crossby, who they hope to keep, Kubiak should have the tools to build the Raiders team back up.
