You Are a Clown: Andrew Berry Bashed By Browns Fans Over Myles Garrett Trade Statement
One of the most-talked-about trades has finally been actualized. Defensive end Myles Garrett has found a home on the West Coast with the Los Angeles Rams. In a clip, general manager Andrew Berry explains the Cleveland Browns’ inner workings over this significant decision.
“Nothing is final at this point. We are in discussions of a potential transaction, including him. I'll have a lot more to say about it once it is final, if it does become final,” Berry said in an X post shared by insider Mary Kay Cabot on June 1.
Well, Garrett will no longer don the Cleveland Browns’ logo-less orange helmet. According to USA Today, the Rams acquired him in exchange for 2024 Defensive Rookie of the Year Jared Verse, a 2027 first-round pick, a 2028 second-round pick, and a 2029 third-round pick.
Insider reports suggest the Browns were unwilling to part ways with their star player. The Browns were “adamant about not trading Myles Garrett,” NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport wrote. However, the Rams were “persistent” to land the two-time Defensive Player of the Year, and the Browns eventually agreed to terms on the trade on June 1.
Garrett’s trade is unlike any other the Browns have engaged in. They picked him first overall nine years ago and witnessed the 30-year-old grow into a formidable player not just in their franchise history but also across the league.
He racked up 125.5 sacks and set the NFL record for most sacks by a player in a season in 2025. He is leaving the Browns after recording 23 sacks last season, as a seven-time Pro Bowler and five-time All-Pro invitee.
After deciding to part ways with a talent like Garrett, GM Berry has to take the heat from angry Browns fans.
Cleveland Browns Fans Go Off After Andrew Berry Over Myles Garrett Trade
Myles Garrett was a cornerstone of the Cleveland Browns, and fans found it difficult to imagine the team without him. Under insider Mary Kay Cabot’s X post, fans express their discontent over the mere idea of trading Garrett.
“You are a clown! The franchise is straight (trash) A 12 yr old on Madden could’ve gotten more for Myles Garret!” a fan commented against Berry.
Another long-time fan was left unhappy at yet another disappointing move and asked for Berry’s resignation.
“As a browns fan for 40 years, this is one of the dumbest moves I’ve ever seen ….. and obviously I’ve seen plenty. What a joke. Berry needs to go.”
Other comments complained that no trade would make up for Garrett’s talents.
“...what an idiot now that we’re just starting to get this team together you wanna trade our best player for a crappy late first round pick and second rate pass rusher who wasn’t even the best pass rusher on their team SMH ##DoneWithHim,” one wrote.
This was followed by a similar one.
“Tell him you don’t trade a player who gave you 23 sacks for a player who just has 7 sacks. This has to be the dumbest organization in NFL history,” the reply read.
“I’d believe Schefter over you clowns in the Cleveland media,” another wrote, refusing to trust the source of this information.
