The Cleveland Browns entered the 2026 season with plenty to prove after two disappointing years. Few expected them to challenge for the AFC North title, particularly with Deshaun Watson returning as their starting quarterback. However, Cleveland has defied expectations, winning three consecutive games against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Carolina Panthers, and Pittsburgh Steelers to reach 3-1.

The turnaround has been impressive given the doubts surrounding Watson and the team's offense. Cleveland has found ways to win close games, with Watson delivering late touchdowns against Tampa Bay and Carolina. Their latest victory over Pittsburgh has put the Browns on top of the AFC North heading into Week 5.

Few predicted this kind of start for Cleveland. The shock surrounding the Browns' early success was perfectly captured by WWE superstar Seth Rollins during an appearance on Good Morning Football. Rollins highlighted the team's history of disappointment before praising the players and fans for their unexpected success.

“The people of Cleveland, the fans of Cleveland, we've all got a friend who's a Browns fan, right? And, man, these poor people. They support this team every year. They go 0-16. They're an awful franchise. They were picked by everybody to be the bottom of the barrel in this division. And look at them. Week four, who's on top of the AFC North? The Cleveland Browns. The Cleveland Browns, guys. And they deserve it.”

Rollins' reaction reflects how dramatically Cleveland has changed the conversation around its season. The Browns still have plenty to prove, but their early results have given supporters genuine reason to believe.

Deshaun Watson Has Shown Why the Fourth Quarter Is Special

Watson's recent performances have played a major role in Cleveland's resurgence. His late-game heroics against Carolina showed the composure the Browns need from their starting quarterback.

However, maintaining this momentum will be the real test. Cleveland must keep improving offensively and avoid mistakes that could derail its promising start.

If Watson continues delivering in crucial moments, the Browns could remain genuine contenders in a division many expected them to struggle in.
