Jake Paul believes he can make the jump from boxing to the NFL once his fighting career ends. The social media star said he has spoken with teams that are interested in bringing him in, a claim that quickly became a talking point online.

Speaking with Front Office Sports, Paul said he doesn't believe earning an NFL opportunity would be as difficult as many expect. He argued that his athletic ability would allow him to compete with current professional players.

"I think there's a lot of super-mediocrity in the NFL, a lot of not good athletes, a lot of people dropping passes on a consistent basis," Paul said. "I have better hands than them, I'm faster than them, I'm stronger than them, I work harder than them."

Paul believes making the transition would require time on the practice field after his boxing career ends. 

"Really all it's gonna take is me after boxing, practicing some routes," Paul said in an exclusive interview, posted by Front Office Sports on X. "I have a couple of teams and coaches that I've talked to that are interested in bringing me on to the team.”

The 29-year-old also named the Cleveland Browns as his preferred landing spot. 

Paul is 12-2 as a professional boxer with seven knockouts. He played varsity football at Westlake High School in Ohio but hasn't appeared in an organized football game in more than a decade.

The comments followed his sixth-round knockout loss to Anthony Joshua. While Paul remains confident about reaching the NFL, fans quickly dismissed the idea on social media.

Many fans took to the comments section under the X post by Front Office Sports and wasted little time pushing back against his claims.

Many questioned whether someone without recent football experience could realistically compete for an NFL roster spot.

"He will be absolutely dog walked off the field. This dude is such a grifter," one fan wrote.

Others argued that any opportunity Paul receives will be related to his popularity rather than his football ability.

"I can see them using him during the preseason letting him play to fit the script to create revenue for the NFL then cutting him as soon as the season starts," another fan commented. "It’s not impossible he did go from YouTuber to pro boxer even though the fights were like WWE events."

Some users admitted Paul has confidence but still doubted he could match NFL competition after years away from the sport.

"Jake Paul talking like he can just stroll into the NFL is wild, but the confidence is next level," another fan wrote.

Others were even more blunt, predicting he would struggle almost immediately if given the chance.

"He wouldn’t last one practice. Unless he paid to get on the team and not to get hit," another fan added.

Paul still believes he can make it to the NFL. So far, though, his comments have drawn far more skepticism than support.
