Shedeur Sanders and the Cleveland Browns are presently busy with the pre-training camp in Miami. However, Sanders did manage to spend some quality time at the 2Legendary youth football camp in northeast Ohio on July 19, 2026.

NFL insider Daryl Ruiter was part of the coverage when it happened. As per him, the kids went absolutely bonkers when Shedeur took the field. He shared his views on X.

"Couple things from Shedeur’s camp: No. 1, it was a free camp," said Ruiter. "No kid or their parents had to pay to participate. 2. The reaction from the kids, I’ve never seen one on that level for a #Browns player at one of these camps. They went absolute bonkers when he walked onto the field."

Ruiter's post on X clearly shows the frenzy around Sanders. The Brooklyn Memorial Stadium in Ohio served as the venue, and nearly 500 kids were part of the event. As per Ohio reporter Camryn Justice, kids had quite an interesting session with Sanders.

They got to interact with their favorite quarterback while enjoying pizza and ice cream. Sanders even stayed back to take selfies with the kids, creating a very fun atmosphere for everyone involved.

He also gave away diamond chains, and there was a visible scramble among kids who were looking forward to talking to him.

Sanders addressed the media soon after.

"I would say most of the time, usually as athletes and everything, we're isolated more," Sanders said. "So it's about getting in the community and just seeing everybody and seeing the inspiration that we give just by showing up. And it's a very simple task, so I truly appreciate it."

Sanders was spotted having a fun time with the kids, but his situation as QB1 is still not certain. As the spot for the number one slot still lies for the taking, he shares his views on the matter.

Shedeur Sanders spills the beans on quarterback competition

If Shedeur Sanders shows up, you know a Deshaun Watson question isn't far behind. However, Sanders has emphasized that mutual growth and respect are the way forward for Cleveland.

As per a SI.com report by Brian Schaible, he addressed the media during the 2Legendary Camp and shared his thoughts on the backstage situation at Cleveland.

“It’s the same thing that we’ve been saying from day one,” Sanders said. “We’re both trying to be the best version of ourselves we could be. We’re not really emotional when it comes to things that we can’t control. We mainly focus on getting better and the work every day."

Despite being aware of the competition, he does not have any sort of animosity towards Watson. However, there is not just Watson in the quarterback room but also young quarterback Dillon Gabriel.

"We all in the quarterback room have a level of respect for each other,” said Sanders without naming anyone.

Cleveland plays their first game of the season against the Jacksonville Jaguars on September 13, and hence, there is still time for either QB to cement their place as the first-choice.
