The Cleveland Browns are 2-1 after Week 3, with Deshaun Watson showing improvement following a difficult season opener.

Watson struggled in the 34-10 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 1. He then produced back-to-back wins over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Carolina Panthers. The Browns QB1 threw two touchdowns without an interception in both victories.

That improvement has changed how some around Cleveland view the quarterback. Speaking on ESPN Cleveland, Browns media voice Emmett Golden offered a positive assessment of Watson’s current situation:

“He seems like he’s in a way better place than he’s ever been before as the Browns starting quarterback.”

Golden’s comments come after Watson posted stronger numbers in Weeks 2 and 3. He has helped Cleveland win two straight games and enter Thursday’s AFC North matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers at 2-1.

The recent run also gives Watson an opportunity to build on his improved start.

The Browns have seen encouraging signs from their QB1 in recent weeks

Deshaun Watson finished Week 2 against Tampa Bay with 238 passing yards and two touchdowns. He followed that with 144 yards and two touchdown passes against Carolina.

The quarterback has five touchdown passes and one interception through three games. His improved production has given Cleveland encouraging signs heading into Week 4.
