Vikings Issue Major Public Statement Following New General Manager Appointment

After a multi-week search that started right after the 2026 NFL Draft, the Minnesota Vikings have finally found their new General Manager to replace former GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah.

On Monday, the Vikings announced a two-time Super Bowl-winning executive, Nolan Teasley, as their new GM.

“I am truly honored to join the Minnesota Vikings organization and grateful to the Wilf family for the opportunity to lead football operations for such a respected franchise,” said Nolan Teasley in a statement.

Teasley further talked about his plan of action and his new team.

“The Vikings have everything needed to compete at the highest level…I look forward to working alongside Kevin O’Connell, Rob Brzezenski, our coaching staff, personnel department and the entire organization as we build a team Vikings fans can be proud of and one that competes for championships year after year.”

Teasley previously worked with the Seattle Seahawks as an assistant GM for 13 seasons and helped the team reach the playoffs 9 times during his tenure.

He had a key role in building the Seahawks' roster that defeated the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LX and clinched their second Super Bowl title in February 2026.

Vikings owner/Chairman Zygi Wilf said that the Vikings were impressed by Teasley’s wide range of experience in football operations. Wilf further added that he believes that Teasley knows what is required to build a “championship team” and a “productive environment”.

The new GM is all set to join forces with Brzezinski and O’Connell, whom the Vikings owners brought in during the 2026 offseason to head the personnel department and the coaching staff.

After his successful run with the Seahawks, the Vikings look toward Teasley to bring that success to Minnesota, which has never won the Super Bowl.

Teasley’s Beginnings in the NFL and Time at Seattle

According to Eva Geitheim of SI, Teasley began playing football when he was 11 years old and ended up becoming a running back for Central Washington University.

Due to his average performance, the Washington native stopped playing football after his junior year of college and graduated with a degree in Public Relations and Business in 2007.

Immediately after, he began working in marketing but ultimately came to dislike his profession. After six years of working, he wrote letters to all 32 NFL teams seeking a position with them. He was finally called by the Seahawks and joined them as an intern in 2013.

Teasley became their pro personnel scout from 2014-2016, an assistant director of player personnel in 2017, the director of player personnel from 2018-2022, and finally the Seahawks’ assistant general manager till 2025 when the Vikings came calling.

It remains to be seen if he can take the Vikings to a new level under his management.
