“Very Yikes”: NFL Fans Bash Tom Brady for Latest Career Move

Tom Brady is no stranger to the football field, but the fashion runway came as a new challenge. The 7x Super Bowl Champion made his official runway debut. Soon, the reactions poured in for Brady as the fans criticized his outfit.

Brady made his fashion runway debut at the Gucci Resort 2027 collection fashion show in Times Square in New York. On May 16, NFL insider Ian Rapoport shared moments from Brady's ramp walk on his X handle.

While dominating the gridiron was what Brady was known for, this was something entirely new to him. The former New England Patriots quarterback was seen sporting an all-black ensemble, a jet-black leather jacket, and paired it with jet-black leather pants.

He also wore a matching black shirt underneath with matching footwear. Brady carried it off with a smirk during his catwalk.

For Brady, walking for Gucci in a fashion show must be new, but he has made frequent appearances at the Met Gala. Other than that, he is no stranger to the fashion world, as he is the co-founder of a namesake activewear and athleisure brand, BRADY.

However, many fans seemed to have a different take on his fashion show look.

Fans Have Mixed Reactions to Tom Brady’s Ramp Debut

Unfortunately for Brady, some of the NFL fans weren't happy with his look.

"I've always said he was Zoolander. Now I am vindicated!!" said a fan

The fan ended up comparing Brady to a satirical male model played by Ben Stiller in the 2001 comedy film, Zoolanders, who is known for his exaggerated poses and awkward seriousness.

Another fan seconded the sentiment."Just yikes, Tom. Very yikes," said the fan. After retiring, Brady’s latest public moves and online presence suggest a more relaxed approach compared to the intensely disciplined reputation he built in New England and Tampa Bay.

Another commenter chose to make a plea to Brady after his stiff, leather‑clad catwalk stride. "What IS that outfit? Good lord," he wrote. The expectations are high since Brady has put up some good outfits, such as his red tuxedo look at the Met Gala 2019.

It also felt distant from his usual attire, like the suits, casual wear, or team gear that he usually wears. "Is retirement so scary you have to start modeling? At what point can he just play golf, relax, and leave everyone else out of it? The Mannings too," they said. Back in December, Brady and his son were spotted playing golf in the Bahamas.

Another fan is unimpressed by Brady's appearance, but he still respects him. "I don’t wanna hate on the goat, so I’m just gonna keep it moving," he wrote. Post-retirement, Brady has been inspirational too, as he was awarded a Doctor of Humane Letters at Georgetown University.

The common belief is that Brady is finding it hard to adjust to life after football. Since football is now behind him, he has other hobbies to attend. What do you think about Brady walking the fashion show? Share your thoughts.
