2026 NFL Draft: Key Situations and Probabilities Surrounding the Cleveland Browns’ 1st Round Pick
After ending the 2025 season with a 5-12 record, the Cleveland Browns now hold 10 picks in the 2026 NFL Draft.
And two of them are in the first round at No.6 and No.24. With a short time left, these players are strongly projected to be General Manager Andrew Berry’s next set of choices.
The Browns need to sort out their offensive line
After being berated by fans and experts alike this year, the team might find a solution in Spencer Fano.
The 22-year-old from Utah Utes was sacked only four times across 37 games he’s played so far. In 2025, he earned an 80.0-plus PFF grade as a block runner and in pass protection.
Mel Kiper Jr. opined that Fano, who stands at 1.98 meters and weighs 136 kgs, has the size and power to be a strong tackle. In the 35 games he started, Fano made 11 as the left tackle and 24 from the right. He is predicted to be a first-round draft pick, No. 6 according to Kiper, and NFL analyst Gordon McGuinness believes he would be the No. 24 pick.
Miami’s offensive tackle Francis Mauigoa is also one of the first-round prospects. NFL Draft analyst Ryan Wilson opined that Mauigoa could either be the right tackle or guard because “he plays with an edge and is better vs. the run than in pass protection right now, but well above average in both departments.”
Meanwhile, Jordan Tyson of Arizona State Is Expected to Improve the Wide Receiver Depth Chart
Browns fans are fed up with the abysmal performance from Jerry Jeudy and Isiah Bond. The team, led by Juedy with four touchdowns for 1,229 yards.
Compare that to Tyson, who made 158 catches for 2,282 yards and scored 22 touchdowns on the collegiate level. The Browns are projected to pick the 21-year-old who was targeted 100 times, from which he made 61 receptions.
Eric Fonton, the lead college football analyst for NCB, noted that Tyson has a “low-error, chain-moving receiver with just enough vertical juice to punish safeties who squat on his routes.”
After earning an 89.0 PFF receiving grade, Tyson is a solid first-round pick at No.6 as per Guinness and Fronton. While Wilson believes he would be the No. 24 pick.
The Browns have the golden opportunity to fix their offensive unit. Any of these picks coached under head coach Todd Monken, whose track record is lengthy and successful, is sure to be an upgrade from the 30th rank.
