25-Year-Old Vikings Star Rondale Moore Found Dead

Tragedy has struck the NFL community as Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Rondale Moore tragically passed away at just 25 years.

The Floyd County Coroner's Office confirmed to WHAS11 on Saturday night that he was found dead. An autopsy is planned for Sunday. Todd Bailey, chief of the New Albany Police Department, said Moore was discovered in a garage, and the cause of his demise is still under investigation.

Moore played at Purdue for current Louisville coach Jeff Brohm. Coach Brohm spoke highly of the late wide receiver on Saturday night.

"Rondale Moore was a complete joy to coach. The ultimate competitor who wouldn't back down from any challenge. Rondale had a work ethic unmatched by anyone. A great teammate that would come through in any situation," said Brohm.

"We all loved Rondale; we loved his smile and his competitive edge that always wanted to please everyone he came in contact with. We offer all our thoughts and prayers to Rondale and his family. We love him very much," he added.

The Arizona Cardinals drafted him in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft (49th overall), and he made an immediate impact.

The 25-year-old played 39 games for them, catching 135 receptions for 1201 yards and 3 touchdowns. Unfortunately, injuries acted like a roadblock.

Rondale Moore Battled With Injuries

The Cardinals then traded him ahead of the 2024 season to the Atlanta Falcons. However, he missed that entire season after suffering a season-ending knee injury during training camp.

He got another opportunity to prove himself when he signed a one-year contract with the Minnesota Vikings. Unfortunately, last season was more of the same as he suffered another season-ending knee injury in a preseason game.

Moore’s 2018 freshman season remains one of the most prolific in school history, leading the nation in catches and ranked near the top in all-purpose yardage.

He recorded 114 catches for 1,258 yards and 12 touchdowns while adding 213 rushing yards and two scores on the ground. Moore also contributed in the return game with 662 kickoff return yards and 82 punt return yards.

Then again, he also battled injuries during his college career. However, it's clear from the testimonies of those close to Rondale Moore that his passing has deeply affected the entire NFL world.
