Chiefs TE Travis Kelce had a blunt reaction when his brother Jason Kelce discussed the possibility of DT Aaron Donald coming out of retirement and joining Myles Garrett on the Los Angeles Rams' defensive front.

Speaking on the New Heights podcast, Jason admitted he would be happy to see Donald return to the NFL now that he no longer has to line up against him.

“Now that I’m fully retired, I really want to see it,” Jason said. “I’m in a watch and great happiness knowing that I’m not on the field trying to deal with that.”

Travis immediately fired back with a three-word response:

“Pretty f***** up, Jason.”

Travis' reaction reflected how difficult a defensive front featuring both Donald and Garrett would be for opposing offenses. The possibility of pairing two of the NFL's most dominant pass rushers has become a popular talking point ever since reports of Donald's potential return.

This wasn't the first time the Kelce brothers discussed the possibility of Donald and Garrett playing on the same defensive front.

“What if AD comes out of retirement?” asked Jason to Travis. “What if it’s Myles Garrett and AD on the same side on the same team on the same field? That’d be cheating. Roger (Goodell) would have to step in.”

On the podcast, the Kelce brothers also had Garrett in attendance, who called Aaron Donald the “MVP of the NFL.” Donald was selected during the 2014 NFL Draft by the St. Louis Rams.

He set the Rams’ franchise record with 111 career sacks. He is an eight-time All-Pro First-Team and was selected to Pro Bowls in all 10 seasons of his NFL career. 

Donald also won Super Bowl LVI with the Rams and was the Defensive Player of the Year in the years 2017, 2018, and 2020. Garrett arrives in Los Angeles with an impressive resume of his own, including multiple Defensive Player of the Year awards.

Donald played on the same team for more than a decade and retired in 2023.

According to Jordan Schultz, Donald began considering a return after learning of the Rams' acquisition of Garrett.

Garrett, who made history with 23 sacks last season with the Browns and is a two-time Defensive Player of the Year, also quipped about Donald's return to the league. 

“I don’t want to press him,” Garrett said during his appearance on the Kelce Brothers’ podcast on Wednesday. “I want him to find out his path. He walked away from the game feeling so fulfilled.”

NFL insider Jordan Schultz texted Donald after the Garrett trade about a potential unretirement scenario. 

“I’m for sure flirting with the idea,” replied Donald. “Helluva an opportunity with the Super Bowl in SoFi this year. If I can find the fire, it’s a possibility.”

ESPN’s Adam Schefter has also spoken with the Rams and added that it’s “more likely than not” that Donald will unretire if the team approaches him with a plan. 

For now, Donald remains retired. However, comments from Garrett, reports from NFL insiders, and the Kelce brothers' discussion show that the possibility of a return continues to generate plenty of attention around the league.
