Trade This Garbage Show: Browns Fans in Uproar Over Myles Garrett & Jalen Hurts Trade

Apr 2, 2026, 3:28 PM CUT

The Cleveland Browns fans are fiercely loyal to the 2025 NFL Defensive Player of the Year, Myles Garrett. They have refused the idea of trading him, even for a former Super Bowl champion.

On Wednesday, Chris Oldach revealed that Jalen Hurts, the Philadelphia Eagles’ star quarterback, has not been in the best condition with the team a lot lately.

Aaron Goldhammer, an ESPN Cleveland host, opined that if there were a possibility, he would trade Garrett for Hurts.

“Apparently, Jalen Hurts and the Eagles are at a bit of a crossroads, Riz,” Oldach said. “The whole thing is that he's reluctant to follow what the coaches are coaching him, that he's changing plays when he doesn't have permission to change them.”

To which Goldhammer replied, “Really? I like me some Jalen Hurts a lot.”

“But if he's not doing what the coaches are telling him to do, Chris, do you want him coming here? If the Eagles called and said, we'll give you Jalen Hurts, you give us Myles Garrett, I would try to rush to make sure that they don't change their mind.”

This admission from Goldhammer stirs up the one trade discussion the Browns are trying to get rid of.

It started in preseason 2025, when Garrett confessed that he wanted to play in the Super Bowl and did not see it happening while he was with the Browns. The management, however, convinced him otherwise and offered a four-year extension worth $160 million.

Garrett was an important player since his draft, but delivered his career-best performance in 2025. He recorded 23 sacks and set a new NFL record for most sacks by a player in a season.

The 30-year-old is the face of the Browns’ defence, which was the 4th best in terms of total yards per game (283.6) and ranked third in passing yards allowed per game (189.41).

Their offense, however, ranked 31st overall, and the major contributing factor was their frustrating quarterback roster.

So, if the Browns could bring in Hurts in exchange for Garrett, should they?

Last season, Hurts scored 25 touchdowns for 3,224 yards against only six interceptions. The Eagles went 11-6 and finished first in the NFC East, but that does not impress Garrett fans.

Fans Wouldn’t Trade Garrett for the World

Fans dismissed Goldhammer and Oldach’s conversation and unanimously agreed that Garrett stays.

One offended fan even commented that they would trade Goldhammer’s show for a sandwich.

“No but I would trade this garbage show for a ham sandwich.”

Others questioned Goldhammer’s wisdom and asked if he had run out of things to talk about for making such a suggestion.

“Slow news day? Jesus christ lmao. Would you trade arguably the best player in the entire NFL, for a player whos not even top 10 at his position?”

“H*** NO , have you lost ur mind,” one comment asked.

Some X users called Garrett one of the best players ever and shot down the trade discussion.

“Best defensive player in the game for a mid quarterback? How much of an idiot must one be to come up with this s***.” one wrote.

This week, the Browns’ general manager, Andrew Berry, called Garrett a “career Brown,” and fans seem to agree with him. But what are your thoughts on this discussion? Tell us in the Comments.
