Tough News for Shedeur Sanders as Browns Running on Fumes Ahead of Bills Clash

Just ahead of their matchup against the Buffalo Bills, Shedeur Sanders is adjusting his game plan after key players are out due to injuries.
Tight end David Njoku will sit out because of a knee injury, and running back Dylan Sampson has injured his hand. On top of this, Jack Conklin, their right tackle, is out for the season after he suffered a concussion in Week 14. Cornerback Denzel Ward will be absent for his second consecutive game due to a calf injury.

Rookie quarterback Sanders has made five touchdowns this season, of which two were caught by Njoku and Sampson, respectively. With these players out, the 23-year-old doesn’t have many options to make plays with but aims to complete passing attempts.
“I just got to get more completions,” Sanders said in a Wednesday press conference. “And even whenever we’re down or anything, I can’t press, you know, I just gotta remain having those mental notes to myself. Just work within the game and just keep driving the ball, get first downs.”
Who will play now alongside Shedeur Sanders?
In Sampson’s absence and Jerome Ford on injured reserve, Trayveon Williams and Raheim “Rocket” Sanders will cover in the offense. Head coach Kevin Stefanski has confidence in Raheim Sanders and said they are expected to perform well on this opportunity.
“We trust Rocket, he’s ready to roll,” Stefanski said. “Obviously, he was ready to go last week. I don’t think we possessed the ball enough on offense to really get a true look at him.”
He further elaborated, “So, if you have a series where you can go rotate a guy in, if there’s a longer series where he can go in, I do anticipate him playing. And when he’s in there, we trust him. He knows what to do, he’s been with us really all season.”
Offensive coordinator Tommy Rees is also looking for ways to include Jedkins, who averaged less than 2 yards per carry in two weeks, against the Bills.
“We got to be creative in ways to get (Quinshon) going,” he said.
Reese credited Jedkins with keeping the team stable and playing consistently, and “He’s created a lot of explosives for us. He’s carrying games for us, so finding ways to continue to have him impact the game.”
The Browns currently stand 3-11 against the 10- 4 Bills. How well will Sanders perform against these odds? Let us know your take on the same!
