Tom Brady Claims No Head Coach Should Go Into HOF as ‘First-Ballot’ Following Bill Belichick Snub

Coach Bill Belichick missed out on becoming a first-ballot Hall of Famer, shocking the NFL community. He got 40 out of the 50 votes needed for induction, and now Tom Brady has spoken up.

Brady, who spent 20 years with Belichick and won six Super Bowls with the Patriots, made a bold claim about Belichick's situation.

“I don’t understand it. If he’s not a first-ballot Hall of Famer, there’s really no coach that should ever be a first-ballot Hall of Famer,” Tom Brady said on Wednesday during his appearance on the Seattle Sports radio show Brock and Salk.

Belichick was a head coach for the Cleveland Browns and the Patriots. However, he found the most success with New England. The 73-year-old spent 23 years there, won six Super Bowls, and formed one of the most legendary partnerships with Tom Brady.

Even Patrick Mahomes, who has had many iconic games against the Patriots, was stunned by the decision. “Insane… don’t even understand how this could be possible,” Mahomes wrote on X while sharing ESPN insider Adam Schefter’s post.

However, Brady and Mahomes weren’t the only ones who spoke up.

Even an NBA Legend Supported Bill Belichick

Even LeBron James couldn't fathom that Bill Belichick was not in the Hall of Fame.

The NBA legend took to X on January 28 and called the decision outright disrespectful to his legacy.

"Man, there's no way I read that right! Right? Ain't no WAY Bill Belichick ain't 1st Ballot HOF!! That's IMPOSSIBLE, EGREGIOUS, and quite frankly DISRESPECTFUL!" the Lakers star wrote.

Former NFL star-turned-college football coach Deion Sanders agreed with LeBron James' statement. "The disrespect to Coach Belichick is straight out ignorant!" Sanders wrote on X.
