Todd Monken's Unbothered Response To Ohio Residents After Disturbing Them
Head coach Todd Monken held his first-ever minicamp with the Cleveland Browns. The franchise’s voluntary training program was held on 21 April, and the session drew noise complaints from nearby residents of Berea, Ohio.
In his recent media session, Monken addressed the noise complaints, making a simple and unbothered response.
“First of all, it was awesome,” he told reporters. “Three days, the weather was unbelievable to get out on the grass and pump the music and get fired up being together. The neighbors complained, and we didn't care, and we pumped up the music louder. They don't like it. They can move.”
The minicamp came just days ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft. Firstly, many players met Monken for the first time. While the camp was not mandatory in nature, Monken made that clear. He was pleased to meet every player who turned up.
In another press interaction earlier this month, the Browns HC shared that his agenda was to build camaraderie.
“Everything we do is the development of players,” Monken said. “But it is our job to put together an offseason program that makes them want to be here from a development standpoint, from a connection standpoint, from a schematic standpoint.”
While star defensive player Myles Garrett was absent, quarterbacks Shedeur Sanders and Deshaun Watson met with the HC again. This minicamp also officiated the competition between QBs for the starting position.
Cleveland Browns' Quarterback Question
The Browns haven’t decided on their QB1 yet, and there are three names in question: Deshaun Watson, Shedeur Sanders, and Dillion Gabriel. Monken shared his observations regarding the quarterbacks during minicamp.
Monken said, “Being out there with the guys and getting a little bit of a feel for who we have on our roster, and I thought all three quarterbacks, at times, you could see positives in their games. And learning a new system, and they’ve been awesome in the meeting rooms and on the field.”
Now, Watson would be returning after a long absence since October 2024. The 30-year-old has been cleared of his Achilles injury to play in what could be his last season with the Browns.
Sanders, 24, is fighting to start the 2026 season as QB1 after ending the last season as one. Meanwhile, for Dillon Gabriel, this minicamp marked his return to the Browns after his rookie season came to an abrupt end due to a concussion.
But if the spirited interactions count, Monken is determined to bind the team as an unbreakable unit.
How would you feel about Monken’s take? Tell us in the comments.
