Todd Monken makes major Deshaun Watson admission
Todd Monken has been under a lot of fire recently. Why? Well, despite the protests of several Browns fans, Monken named Deshaun Watson as the team's QB1. Now, he has added more fuel to the fire with his recent comments.
During his most recent press conference, Monken was asked if he has seen the last few games with the Browns. To the surprise of many, Monken revealed that he hasn't watched a single on of Watson's 19 games in a Browns jersey.
"I really to be honest haven't looked at it. To be honest only from afar. People say, "You had to look at it." Well, not really. I looked at it from afar when I was down the road. In crossover film or something."
It certainly is a concerning revelation. After all, one would want their head coach to be aware of all aspects of their QB's game before naming him the starter.
Nevertheless, this is more ammo for the Shedeur Sanders fans around the world advocating for the sophomore to start the season. Unfortunately though, that decision is unlikely to change anytime soon. So Browns fans are just going to have to wait and hope for the best.
Todd Monken unbothered by fans who are against his decision
As mentioned earlier, Monken's decision to name Deshaun Watson as the starter wasn't received well. However, he remains unbothered by the fans who have questioned his decision.
When asked if he was upset about how fans feel about his decision, Monken gave a straight answer. Absolutely not.
While he would like it if both he and the fans were on the same page, his decision is final. He believes he has made the best choice for the Browns heading into Week 1, and stands by Deshaun Watson and his ability.
