Cleveland media personality Ken Carman reacted to Todd Monken’s postgame comments on The Ken Carman Show with Anthony Lima.

The discussion followed Deshaun Watson’s interception on Cleveland’s opening drive against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Monken defended the quarterback’s decision, saying Watson “let that ball rip” and explaining that mistakes will happen.

Carman then questioned whether that explanation set an acceptable standard for the Browns’ veteran quarterback.

"Im dead serious, and so I'm gonna have to deal with this for the rest of excuse me, it ain't me. We're all gonna have to deal with it for the rest of the season. And to me-I know--Kenny how could you be surprised? I'm not surprised, it's sinking in. That you're gonna feel like you're insulted, to a degree."

Carman continued by stressing the reality of Watson’s situation and Cleveland’s expectations for the season.

"This is the realization of how long it is going to be. I mean if you're talking about him in that way. I gotta tell you, I think maybe we should just wait and see if the other guys can develop later on cuz this is just an abomination."

Ken Carman compared Todd Monken’s comments to the way someone might address a quarterback in sixth grade.

Owen Lademann, who joined the discussion, agreed with Carman’s comparison during the show. Lademann joked that such an approach could make sense when speaking to an 11-year-old quarterback.

Carman, however, pointed out that Deshaun Watson was a 30-year-old veteran. He questioned whether Cleveland should continue waiting for Watson to turn things around while other quarterbacks remain available.
