“There’s gotta be demand” - Browns insider delivers update on Shedeur Sanders trade
The Cleveland Browns face questions about Shedeur Sanders’ future. However, there may not be enough demand to make a deal realistic right now.
Tony Grossi discussed the situation on ESPN Cleveland's The Really Big Show after being asked if the atmosphere around a Sanders trade was positive. Grossi pointed to the lack of demand across the quarterback market at present.
“Absolutely. Okay, first of all, there's gotta be a demand. And although there are teams that are a little short at quarterback, it seems like there's a lull right now. Teams are waiting to see what they've got.”
Grossi believes teams with quarterback concerns are still assessing their situations. He then explained that he does not see any deal developing around the position and a Sanders trade imminently.
“But there doesn't seem to be something on the verge of happening around the league at that position, let alone Shedeur. I don't expect him to be traded.”
Grossi’s assessment suggests Sanders could remain with Cleveland unless the quarterback market changes.
Cleveland waits for clarity around the quarterback market
The quarterback market could play a role in determining whether Cleveland receives an offer for Shedeur Sanders before the trade deadline.
Tony Grossi’s comments point to a broader lack of movement among franchises that could need quarterback help. Those teams appear focused on evaluating their current options rather than making immediate moves.
For Cleveland, that could leave Sanders’ situation unchanged for now. The Browns can continue evaluating their quarterback room while waiting to see whether the market creates a genuine opportunity for a trade.
