Taylen Green Denies Personal Relationship With Shedeur Sanders After Browns Move

Taylen Green is headed to the Cleveland Browns after going No. 182nd overall in the 2026 NFL Draft. The former Arkansas quarterback clarified his relationship with teammate Shedeur Sanders on Saturday. Green noted they previously attended similar camps but lack a personal bond.
In a press conference post-draft on 25 April, Green was asked whether he shares an existing rapport with Sanders, the former Colorado Buffs star. To which he said,
“I know of him. I don’t have a personal relationship with him,” he told reporters. “He played high school in Texas, so we went to similar camps, the UA All-American camps. But what he did at Colorado and what he did last year was really good. I’m just really excited to work with him and to pick things up from everybody in the quarterback room.”

Green, an Arkansas Razorbacks QB, turned heads with his record-shattering athleticism. He completed a 40-yard dash in just 4.36 seconds. He surpassed Anthony Richardson’s 2023 record with his 43.5-inch vertical and an 11-foot-2 broad jump.
He is walking into the Browns facility with 59 passing TDs for 9,662 yards, 60.1% completion rate, and 35 rushing TDs for 2,403 yards during his five-season college career. He initially joined Boise State in 2021 and transferred to Arkansas in 2024.
The franchise ended its 2025 season with Sanders, a former Colorado Buffs star, as its starter. While the Browns still haven’t declared their starter, Sanders is gearing up for the next season with a positive outlook.
What is Shedeur Sanders' Outlook For The 2026 Season?
The Browns hosted their first practice minicamp in Berea, Ohio, on 21 April, just days ahead of the Draft.
Sanders, 24, turned up in the voluntary OTA alongside Dillion Gabriel and Deshaun Watson. The three were seen practicing together while a competition to win the starting positions continues to loom over them.
When asked about the comparison between the players, Sanders said his focus is elsewhere.
“I think I don't try to compare anything,” Sanders said after practice. “I don't try to live in no comparison world. I try to forget the negatives, take the good things, and just move forward. So respectfully, I just don't want to talk about last year or anything, because it doesn't help us move forward.”
The Browns have added both Green and Sanders to strengthen their quarterback room ahead of the upcoming season.
