Brandon Aiyuk's latest social media drama has put Jayden Daniels in the spotlight after a viral fan interaction, but as the controversy spreads, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler has issued the 49ers receiver a harsh reality check.

While Fowler acknowledged that the Commanders might be somewhat interested in him, he warned that someone should stop Aiyuk from doing any further damage to his reputation.

"So right now, where is somebody who loves him who can just take that phone away, put it in a safe far away at this point?" Fowler continued in his conversation on SportsCenter, ESPN, on Sunday, per Bleacher Report.

The insider argued that Aiyuk has been dragging his PR to new lows with every video he uploads on social media.

While he understands that Aiyuk is doing it to pressure the 49ers into releasing him sooner, the team has no reason to speed up the process.

"Now, he obviously is trying to force the 49ers' hand to cut him, but they haven't done that, they haven't tipped their hand," Fowler said as per SportsCenter, ESPN, on Sunday, per Bleacher Report. "He's on the left squad list, so he doesn't count against the 53-man roster. They simply don't have to do anything right now."

In his latest outburst, Aiyuk targeted his friend Jayden Daniels for failing to back him after a fan made objectionable comments about him on the Fourth of July.

Following the incident, Aiyuk not only unfollowed Daniels on Instagram but also went on a rant, declaring he is going to be part of the Commanders regardless of everything.

Now, the question is: Will he be able to play for the Commanders? Well, Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk believes he has the answer.

While Brandon Aiyuk continues his social media rampage, the Commanders have maintained their silence on the matter. This silence has led Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio to believe that the team might be a bit interested in him.

“There have been no reports or suggestions that they are [interested in Aiyuk],” Florio wrote on July 4. “Perhaps more importantly, there have been no reports or suggestions that they aren’t. It’s only tampering to express public interest in a player under contract with another team. It’s not tampering to make it known that a team isn’t interested”

While Aiyuk's reputation has taken a serious hit due to his antics, he remains one of the league's best wide receivers.

His last full season came in 2023, when he recorded 75 receptions for 1,342 yards and seven touchdowns in 16 games, earning second-team All-Pro honors.

Aiyuk's addition to the packed Commanders' side would give them the boost for the payoff run, but it would come with plenty of criticism.
