Stephen A Smith Lashes Out Against Kevin Stefanski Over Major Shedeur Sanders Failure
Stephen A Smith has joined the list of experts pouring down on Kevin Stefanski for his failure with Shedeur Sanders.
The American TV personality talked about how the Brown PPG has dropped to 16, how they have 5 INT, and a 76 passer rating since Sanders debuted. And while saying he can look at the QB, he sees the HC as the problem.
"My problem is, damn, Kevin Stefanski. Does any quarterback work for you? Any quarterback at all, right? At some point in time, ain't it about you? Ain't it about your offensive coordinator? Ain't it about what y'all are bringing to the table?"

He added, "Because if no one seems to work for you as an offensive mind at the quarterback position, how can I look at your Shedeur Sanders? I might have to look at you and say, you might be the reason Shedeur Sanders is looking the way he's looking."
Smith sees Stefanski as the problem because, since 2020, he has had 13 quarterbacks with the Browns. Deshaun Watson and Baker Mayfield are some big names, and while injuries got the better of Watson, Mayfield has been impressive outside Stefanski's coaching system.
He had a passer rating of 87.8 with 14,125 yards, 92 touchdowns, and 56 interceptions in 60 games for the Browns. Compare that to his passer rating of 97.8 with 11,543 yards, 91 touchdowns, and 33 interceptions in 48 games for the Buccaneers.
It's not Shedeur Sanders' talent but Stefanski's coaching that is a problem. We have seen some bad calls from the HC regarding Sanders, like being too conservative in the game against the 49ers in week 13. Then, he was taken off the field for the two-point conversion in the 29-31 loss to the Titans. And Smith isn't the only one calling him out.
NFL analysts drop honest comments about Kevin Stefanski
Many NFL analysts have started saying that Stefanski should leave the Cleveland Browns.
“Stefanski has now sandwiched a 2023 Coach of the Year campaign with losing seasons in 2021, 2022, 2024, and 2025. It’s time for the Browns to start fresh at the top,” Brad Gagnon explained in a report.
Jason Lloyd of The Athletic has said in his report that it's simply time for the two parties to start fresh apart from one another. The insider reports from the Browns camp also say that the owners might not keep him next year.
