Spencer Fano Sends A Message For Browns Fans Ahead Of 2026 Season
Spencer Fano is prepared to get under the spotlight and fulfill the expectations of his fans. The first draft pick (no. 9) for the Cleveland Browns has now delivered a message to his fans on the franchise's X platform.
After being drafted, Spencer Fano appeared on the ‘Best Podcast Available’ hosted by Andrew Siciliano. Fano was selected in the 2026 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns with the No. 9 overall pick. Following his selection, Siciliano asked the youngster what he wanted Browns fans to know about him.
“I do love the traffic, I feel like I won’t be denied," Fano said on May 5th on the Browns' X platform. "I’m gonna do everything it takes. I’ve had too many people believe and sacrifice in me to be able to, to settle or to not meet these expectations.”
Regardless of which quarterback starts for the Browns, Fano makes for a big addition to protect his quarterback. Deshaun Watson is coming off a long injury, and last year's rookie, Shedeur Sanders, could also benefit from the protection.
The numbers back the hype. NFL.com slapped him with an 89 total from the 2026 Combine, ranking him as the top offensive tackle, and projecting a clear path to a reliable starter in the making within two years.
Fano’s college resume backs up his confidence. Having spent three years in Utah, he is known as a dominant and reliable blocker. Moreover, he is a versatile player with the efficiency to move past both protection and run schemes.
As the 2026 season approaches, all eyes will be on how quickly Fano fulfills his promise through performance. One Athletic reporter even believes Fano could be starting games soon.
Spencer Fano Could Play as the Left Tackle
To no surprise, Spencer Fano is already being projected as an early starter ahead of the 2026 NFL season by the Cleveland Browns.
Fano played at both tackle spots for three collegiate seasons with the Utes. From his 37 total games, he's logged in at least 10 at left as well as right tackle positions.
Are the Cleveland Browns really ready to roll the dice on a 21-year-old at left tackle in 2026? The debate is real, especially with pre-draft buzz around Fano possibly sliding inside.
But if The Athletic's Zac Jackson is reading it right, Cleveland may already have its answer, and it points straight to Fano holding down the edge:
Left tackle: Spencer Fano, Austin Barber
Left guard: Elgton Jenkins, Zak Zinter
Center: Parker Brailsford, Luke Wypler
Right guard: Zion Johnson, Teven Jenkins
Right tackle: Tytus Howard, KT Leveston
Swing tackle: Dawand Jones
