Reports emerged earlier today that Shedeur Sanders will be splitting scout team reps with rookie QB Taylen Green. Shedeur spent training camp in a QB battle with veteran Deshaun Watson. Despite a close competition, as well as Watson being booed by fans, whom he later called out in a press conference, Watson was named QB1 by head coach Todd Monken.

Most of the Browns fan base was irate at the decision, with Watson now one of the most upopular figures in Cleveland sports history. On the other side we have sophmore QB Shedeur Sanders who's beloved to many of the fanbase and in many fans eyes, outplayed Watson in preseason.

ESPN Cleveland's Tony Rizzo reacted to Shedeur Sanders now splitting scout team reps and urged him to get through this until he gets another shot as a starter. Rizzo said:

"Shedeur is going to split reps with Taylen Green on the scout team. Shedeur, they are testing you. You will come through. You'll be alright, son. Just do whatever they ask you to do. When you get in, make them pay." [Via ESPN Cleveland]

Shedeur Sanders named QB2, Dillon Gabriel placed on IR

Both Shedeur Sanders and Taylen Green made the Browns 53-man roster. Fans expected the Browns to name 4 QBs in the 53 but Dillon Gabriel was put on injured reserved over a reported back issue.

Reports suggest that the Browns could use the first 4 weeks of the season to look for a trade partner for Gabriel, with his future seemingly away from Cleveland. Gabriel started the Browns' final preseason game against the New England Patriots, throwing 3 TDs.
