There’s yet another twist in the Sheduer Sanders and Kevin Stefanski relationship. In the 49ers game, the Browns lost 26-8 and  Sanders threw a 34-yard TD early, giving Cleveland an 8-7 lead, but turnovers, special-teams mistakes, and failed fourth-down attempts let San Francisco score 19 unanswered points. After the game questions were raised over Kevin Stefanski but he was defended by the Browns QB. 

After the game, Sanders addressed a reporter from the Browns who questioned him about head coach Kevin Stefanski’s choice to attempt two plays, both of which failed. 

Addressing the question. Sanders said, "I mean, first that's a rude question to ask if I think it was a great call by my coach. I like being out there playing. So whatever that comes with it comes with. We not going to ever be up here pointing no fingers at no coaches. That's extremely disrespectful,” The question was about when Kevin Stefanski made two bold fourth‑and‑one calls that backfired. 

The first, late in the first quarter at the 49ers’ 20‑yard line, failed on a run by rookie RB Quinshon Judkins. The second, in the third quarter from Cleveland’s own 33‑yard line, involved a direct snap to rookie TE Harold Fannin Jr., which resulted in a fumble recovered by San Francisco and led to a touchdown. 

The reported wanted to if Sanders agreed with those calls, but the Browns were not going to criticize his coach in open. The answer not only was a befitting reply to the question, but it also tightened the closed door over rumors of strained relationships between the two. 

Shedeur Sanders addressed his relations with Kevin Stefanski

When Shedeur Sanders got to play quarterback because Gabriel was hurt, he didn’t play very well, understandably, since he was a rookie backup. People then started wondering if Coach Kevin Stefanski was actually holding Sanders back. Stefanski admitted that Sanders hadn’t been taking first-team reps since he was drafted. 

This made fans and analysts question whether Stefanski was really helping Sanders develop. Even Cam Newton talked on ESPN, saying Stefanski might not be fully supporting Sanders. But then after 24-10 win over the Raiders, Sandres addressed these comments. A reporter asked Sanders if Stefanski was sabotaging him, referring to what some fans were saying. 

Sanders replied, “So you just wanna start trouble?” and explained, “That’s not nothing I can control. Overall, I’m just happy to be here. Coach Stefanski been coaching since I got here and he’s been doing a very great job with everything that’s going on.” When pressed again for a description of the two’s relationship, Sanders said it was growing and he’s thankful to be in this position.
