Shedeur Sanders Shuts Down Brother Shilo in Hilarious Fashion During Thanksgiving Dinner

Nov 30, 2025, 1:23 PM CUT

Shedeur Sanders is not the only talent Dieon Sanders introduced to the football world. His elder son, Shilo Sanders, is a safety who has played for the South Carolina Gamecocks, Jackson State Tigers, and Colorado Buffaloes. What's more? The elder Sanders brother almost made it to the NFL, but now finds himself in a pinch.

However, a video of the Sanders family’s Thanksgiving dinner has revealed that Shilo Sanders is very optimistic about his future in the NFL. In the video, the elder Shilo Sanders could be seen joking during the dinner table prayer.

“Dear Lord, please allow Shedeur to do his best so he can pull some strings and get me on the Browns, too. And please make No. 21 available somehow,” Shedeur Sander's older brother said.

Shilo, who signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent, did not make the cut in the preseason. Now, he wants a spot in the Browns. Unfortunately, his younger brother shut that down immediately. “That’s Denzel Ward — he’s a franchise player. Twenty-one is gone, bro,” Shedeur said.

Yet, Shilo Sanders was immediately ready to compromise. “Never mind. 28 will do,” the 25-year-old added. But there's a problem with the compromise. Tre Avery is the current number 28 for the Browns with 2 solo tackles and 5 assists in 6 games this season.

Nevertheless, fans found the wholesome and fun moment between the brothers amusing. And guess what? This isn't the only time the Shedeur Sander's brother joked about not making the cut.

Shilo Sanders Diverts a Fan’s Request to Shedeur Sanders

Just last month, another video of Shilo Sanders went viral, in which a fan asked for a donation for his youth program, to which he said that his contract is gone, and they should ask Shedeur.

He said, “Bro, I just got cut from the NFL. I don’t got no money, bro. You got to go ask like Shedeur. [My NIL money] is gone, bro. Y’all got to ask Shedeur. But look, if I get back in the league, I got you.” While in college (with Colorado Buffaloes), Shilo reportedly had a fairly high NIL valuation, estimated at around $1.1 million, but now that he has graduated, that income has stopped.

So Shilo Sanders is stuck in limbo at least until the 2025-26 season ends. However, it's not like he didn't show promise with the Bucs. The former Colorado player totaled 83 defensive snaps, 46 coverage snaps, four tackles, one QB pressure, and allowed one reception for eight yards in coverage. But then he got into an altercation with Buffalo Bill’s tight end Zach Davidson.

During that altercation, Sanders threw a punch at Davidson and was immediately flagged for unnecessary roughness and ejected. The Buccaneers decided to waive him the next day. So only time will tell if Shilo actually gets to join his brother, Shedeur Sanders, in Cleveland.
