Shedeur Sanders praised for his professionalism amid Browns quarterback debate

Deshaun Watson had a strong outing in Cleveland’s 27-24 Week 7 win over the Tennessee Titans. He threw for 308 yards and added a rushing touchdown. However, fan calls for Shedeur Sanders to take over at quarterback have not stopped.

On the Ultimate Cleveland Sports Show, Cleveland sports personalities Garrett Bush and Adam the Bull Gerstenhaber discussed Sanders’ situation.

Bush praised Sanders for staying professional, focusing on learning, and absorbing information from Watson:

“There's some people who are gonna advocate their support for Shedeur Sanders, no matter what he does, wherever he's gonna be at now. But Shedeur has done a really good job, I think, of being very professional and just going about his business.”

Bush also highlighted Sanders’ professionalism and preparation for his opportunity:

“Some people can say they want him to play, but the way he is handling himself is exactly what you wanna do in order to be ready and prepare for when your opportunity does come.”

Sanders’ approach allows him to keep developing while remaining ready to contribute when Cleveland needs him.

Fans called out for continuing to push for Shedeur Sanders to start for the Browns

On the same show, Adam the Bull challenged fans who continue demanding a quarterback change despite the Browns' 5-2 record.

He argued that some supporters back Shedeur Sanders regardless of the team's circumstances instead of considering what is best for Cleveland. He clarified that his criticism targeted those fans, not Sanders himself.

The debate highlights the contrast between Sanders’ patient approach to his backup role and the continued calls for him to replace Deshaun Watson.
