Shedeur Sanders Gets Honest Over Kevin Stefanski Relationship as QB Airs Final Message
Shedeur Sanders ended his season with a win. So did Kevin Stefanski, just that he ended his coaching tenure with the Browns. Sanders had a message for the HC before the firing.
In the post-game press conference, a reporter asked Sanders about what the season-ending win meant for the head coach.
"I think just Coach Kev, he's been real tough, he's been tough, and it's good. I think I grew and I learned a lot from him. I think this week we had a conversation just about things. You know what I'm saying, just about things in general."
He added that they have created a sort of understanding, exchanged ideas, and shared what they both go through. Sanders also confirmed Stefanski's stance on the win, stating, "So I think, I know he wanted this win, and I know he wants every win, but I know this one means a lot."
The relationship between Setfanski and Sanders was a big part of the 2025 Browns chapter. Many criticised Stefanki for not starting the former Colorado QB and not giving him starting team reps.
An NFL insider also reported that people in the locker room had to stop Shedeur Sanders from going after the HC post the Titans game. But in the media, the two always had good words about each other.
Talking about Kevin Stefanksi getting fired, he said, "I think it's just overall the mentality, things gonna happen, that's just how it be here. And moving forward, just focus on what we can improve individually for the next head coach."
The season so far for Shedeur Sanders
Earlier in the press conference, the reporters also asked the Browns QB about what he felt about his rookie season with the team.
"What I'm seeing, I know what I see well, I know what I don't see well. And I learned a lot mentally, and I learned a lot mostly physically, everything. I think mentally, it was how to deal with when things are going your way, when things aren't going your way, how to deal with feelings."
It wasn't an easy season for him. After being widely projected as a first-round pick, he fell all the way to the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft. Although the Browns selected him 144th overall, he began the regular season on the bench.
He added that this year was all about dealing with feelings. "You could be not playing and feel some type of way, and you could be playing and feel the same way as if you didn't, as how you were when you weren't playing."
Sanders had a passer rating of 68.1 with 1,400 yards, 7 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions in 8 games this season. What do you think about his performance? Do you see the Browns' future QB in him?
