Shedeur Sanders is finally clicking as Cleveland's QB and big names in the NFL are taking notice.

After a stellar performance against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, 7-time Super Bowl Champion Tom Brady showed support to the rookie.

"I have watched every throw, every run, every time he stood back up after getting hit hard. Nobody understands the weight of carrying a whole team on your shoulders until they have done it themselves. Shedeur Sanders is fighting for an entire city. Nobody has the right to mock someone who continues to battle the way he does.”

As some fans may remember, it was similar to what Coach Prime told the media about Shedeur after his Ravens outing.

Brady knows just what it takes to keep fighting as a rookie QB. During his college years at Michigan, Brady had to use a sports psychologist to help deal with the frustration. Later, he was picked 199th overall on the NFL draft.

More importantly, Brady has seen Shedeur's intent. Back in 2020, Tom Brady had done a one-on-one workout with Sanders at the Berkeley Preparatory School in Tampa, Florida. Ever since then, Shedeur Sanders and Tom Brady corresponded regularly, and it's been a major part of the rookie QB's rise.

"We had a conversation and then phone calls and then text messages, and then him making the commitment to say, 'Hey, this is what I want to do, I'm really serious about it.' A lot it is you want to see what their intention is too because when you see someone that's really open to learning and has this thirst for knowledge, you want to be able to support that."

It looks like Shedeur Sanders has some inspiration from Tom Brady's career

A member of the Ball Boy podcast, Luca Barbu, floated the idea that Shedeur Sanders could potentially follow in Tom Brady’s footsteps. He pointed out that their early career paths share some similarities. 

Barbu noted, “How did Shedeur get his first NFL start? Because of Dillon Gabriel’s concussion. How did Brady get his first NFL start? Because of Drew Bledsoe’s concussion.” 

Sanders stepped in after Gabriel suffered a concussion against the Bengals. Brady’s opportunity came in 2001 when Drew Bledsoe was hit by Jets linebacker Mo Lewis and had a sheared blood vessel, not a concussion.

Just as Brady climbed his way up all the way from seventh on the depth chart at Michigan, Sanders has done the same, climbing from 4th to QB1.

If he wants to stand where Brady does, Shedeur Sanders would have to go a long way in achievements.  What do you think of this comparison? Let us know in the comments.
