Shedeur Sanders' Ex-Teammate Expresses Reunion Desire
The 2026 NFL Draft will seal the fates of many star-eyed prospects who have ambitions of their own. One among them spent his 2022 in Jackson State and has wished to reunite with his former teammate, Shedeur Sanders.
Before Sanders transferred to the Colorado Buffaloes and became a star there, he and Kevin Coleman Jr. played for Jackson State. In his appearance on the Up and Adams Show podcast, the wide receiver welcomed the idea of playing with Sanders.
“Now that’s my guy. I am super happy, I am super happy for him. Proud of him, where he is at right now, proud of the guy he’s becoming,” Coleman said about Sanders. “...Freshman year, the chemistry we got. Just a great guy. I’d love to go back and play with him.”
Coleman debuted on the collegiate level in 2022. He made 33 receptions for 510 yards and scored three touchdowns. He then moved to Louisville before transferring to Mississippi State and finishing his college journey at Missouri.
His 12 touchdowns over four years may not particularly stand out, but his Senior Bowl showing quietly shifted momentum in his favor. Now projected anywhere between the third and sixth round, the playmaker is backed by a 4.49 speed that keeps him firmly in the draft conversation.
With the Browns reportedly actively looking for a wide receiver to improve their offense, Coleman could be the answer.
Should the Cleveland Browns Draft Kevin Coleman Jr.?
The 22-year-old Coleman Jr. got a production score of 64 and a total score of 66 in the NFL Combine. In the 2025 season, Coleman led his team with 66 receptions for 732 yards and threw one TD.
His college stats rest at 199 receptions and receiving 12 TDs for 2,536 yards.
But importantly, he and Sanders already share a camaraderie that could strengthen the offense.
Sanders’ rookie season was a rough one. He played from Week 11 and scored seven TDs for 1,400 yards and threw 10 interceptions. Currently, his future as the QB1 on the team is highly uncertain.
Last season, Jerry Jeudy, who led the team, scored 106 targets; he made 50 receptions for 602 yards and scored just two TDs for the Browns.
Other receivers such as Isiah Bond and Malachi Corley didn't manage a single touchdown.
So, will the Browns reunite the college teammates and get a new WR? What do you think? Read more at the Cleveland Browns Community!
