Shedeur Sanders showed plenty of progress during his second preseason with the Browns, with some even saying he outplayed Deshaun Watson.

Former All-Pro guard Joel Bitonio praised the young quarterback for his progress heading into his second season in the NFL. Bitonio was impressed by how much Sanders improved compared to last year. Still, he believes Sanders needs to become more consistent with his anticipation, pocket awareness, and time to throw. He said:

"I thought we saw in the preseason his development from last year. I thought he looked, to me, significantly better." (via Beared Browns podcast)

Joel Bitonio reveals one major issue for Shedeur Sanders

Joel Bitonio believes that Shedeur Sanders still has an important area of his game to clean up.

Bitonio pointed out that Sanders can make big plays when receivers get open. Explosive plays aren't an issue. The problem comes when he holds the football for too long. Bitonio said:

"As a lineman, it sucks, but if you're taking over three seconds to throw in the league, like, I don't care if you have five Joe Thomases in front of you. It is tough to handle."

If Sanders gets another opportunity to start, improving his decision-making speed could be crucial.
