Shannon Sharpe sends hostile warning to Deshaun Watson amid concerning browns news

For a while, it appeared that Deshaun Watson was certainly going to win the starting quarterback race. However, Shedeur Sanders has caught up to him, leaving him very little time to win back the lost confidence in him.

“Now, we maybe have three, four weeks of that, and then we got to make a switch,” Shannon Sharpe said in the latest episode of Nightcap.

On June 21, the former tight end sat down with Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson, and Joe Johnson to discuss to discuss the turning tides in the Cleveland Browns QB1 race.

“The job that Deshun Watson is gonna get, Uncle Joe, it is his job to lose. He has six weeks. I guarantee you,” Chad Johnson, a former wide receiver said.

This development is a sharp change from a significant report. On April 29, Browns insider Mary Kay Cabot had opined that Watson should be declared the QB1 as soon as possible.

She based her opinion on the insider scoop she had received at the time.

“Deshaun Watson emerged from the Browns’ voluntary minicamp last week with an edge over Shedeur Sanders in the two-man quarterback competition — and has the inside track to be named the Browns QB1, sources tell cleveland.com,” she wrote.

However, head coach Todd Monken had doused any high hopes Watson or his fans might’ve held. He hasn’t declared a winner and is still evaluating both quarterbacks. Now more so as Sanders has reportedly improved his performance.

“Deshaun Watson was decidedly ahead at that point,” Cabot later said on the Orange and Brown podcast, reported on June 13. “And then Shedeur Sanders went to work and really narrowed the gap.”

As the Browns witness this competiton unfold, fans have shared what their thoughts on this situation are.

“Does anyone understand”: Fans pick sides in the Cleveland Browns race

Shannonn Sharpe and Chad Johnson spelled out that Deshaun Watson has limited time to get ahead of Shedeur Sanders in the QB1 race. In the comments section of their Youtube video, fans stated their opinions on the matter.

“Deshaun Watson hasn’t played well in 6 years. Does anyone understand how long 6 years is?” one fan commented.

In 2020, Watson lead the league with 4,823 passing yards. His explosive performance in the Houston Texas drew a whopping $230 million guaranteed deal for five years from the Browns.

He, however, faced an 11 games suspension the next year and was absent for over a year because of an Achilies injury.

“The browns just need to accept that they made a terrible investment. It’s been like 4 or 5 years and they’re still trying to justify the price they paid give it up,” another fan commented, talking about his infamous contract.

One fan commented on the Browns choice to consider Watson.

“Watson even being considered at this time is why the browns are trash.”

“Shedeur is starting week 1. Ocho is on something when he starts talking about the Browns,” one replied rallying behind Sanders and calling out Johnson.

“We love you Shedeur,” replied another.

These fans have shared their take but what are your thoughts?
