Shannon Sharpe Rips Into Steelers After Myles Garrett Bias Haunts Them Against Browns

The Cleveland Browns’ defensive end, Myles Garrett, remained a talking point in their 13-6 win against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

He was so close to breaking the record of the most sacks in a single season with 22, but failed to get that record sack. Well, according to Shannon Sharpe, that’s all the Steelers were concerned about.

The former Broncos tight end took to X and laid out a harsh reality check on the AFC North leaders. “Steelers more concerned about Garrett’s sack highlights and it showed. They lost, but at least Myles didn’t get a sack,” he stated.

Although Garrett didn't record a single sack this game and only recorded a tackle, his presence was enough to force Rodgers into making mistakes. The veteran QB panicked under his constant pressure and threw 18 incomplete passes. It also allowed Grant Delpit and Alex Wright to get a sack on Rodgers.

The result was obvious: the Steelers failed to score a single touchdown. Pittsburgh’s kicker, Chris Boswell, scored all 6 of their points by converting 2 out of 3 field goals. With this loss, Mike Tomlin’s men go into the last game against the Baltimore Ravens in a “winner takes all” battle.

Mike Tomlin gets honest about Myles Garrett’s record

The Pittsburgh Steelers head coach, Mike Tomlin, straight up denied having too much focus on Myles Garrett’s record.

In the post-game press conference, he was asked about the 29-year-old’s sack record. He said, “We didn’t do anything against Myles that we don’t normally do against Myles. The sack record is irrelevant. We got to minimize him if we want to engineer victory.”

He noted the Steelers’ 26-9 win against Cleveland in Week 6, stating that the defense performed the same and stopped Garrett. “We did the same thing last time we played him. I didn’t think he had any sacks in that game either. So we didn’t take a different approach because the gravity of the record.”

Well, Tomlin’s explanation holds some weight, as he has recorded just 3 tackles in both games against the Steelers. The seven-time Pro Bowler now has only one chance to break the sack record of 22.5, which is currently held by Michael Strahan and T.J.Watt, against the Bengals.
