Sean McVay Provides Fresh Update on Matthew Stafford Ahead of Playoffs Clash

A 34-31 wild card win against the Panthers ended with QB Mathew Stafford with an injured finger.

Now the Rams are scheduled to play the Chicago Bears in the NFC Divisional Round. But the big question is whether Stafford is fit enough to play? HC Sean McVay has an update.

"He's as tough as it gets, and he'll be good to go," He said, per the Associated Press.

At the end of the first half in the NFC Wild-Card Round, the Rams' quarterback banged his hand on D.J. Wonnum's arm while trying to follow through on a pass. He immediately grabbed his throwing hand after taking the blow and doubled over in pain.

His performance also dipped due to this, as he exhibited uncharacteristic struggles with accuracy during the third quarter. But snapped out of it just in the nick of time to ensure the win for the Los Angeles Rams.

"They saw it on the TV on the sideline or whatever," Matthew Stafford said of his injury. "I didn't obviously know exactly what had happened. It wasn't pleasant. It wasn't great. I was obviously able to finish the game and throw it decent. Once the ball's snapped, the adrenaline's pretty good."

The Rams need Matthew Stafford very much against the Bears

The Rams will face the Bears in the next round, a team that has caught the most interceptions in the 2025 season (23). This is where the Rams QB becomes important because Stafford has only thrown 8 interceptions in 17 games.

That is the third lowest among the quarterbacks who have played all 17 games this season. On top of that, the Bears have allowed 4,067 passing yards in the season, the 11th highest in the season. Matthew Stafford is an elite passer with 4,707 passing yards this season.

He also has a passer rating of 88.2 with 5,985 yards, 35 touchdowns, and 24 interceptions in 22 games versus the Bears in his career. Who do you think will win this game?
