The Super Bowl LX was a tough loss for the New England Patriots, but fans have turned it up on one of their rookies.

Will Campbell is catching the heat after the Seattle Seahawks defeated them in a 29-13 scoreline. Although Drake Maye completed 295 yards with 2 touchdowns, he found himself constantly overwhelmed by the pass rush.

In fact, Maye was sacked 6 times by the Seahawks, and although Campbell was only charged with one of those sacks, his struggles were noticeable as the Patriots failed to score until the fourth quarter. The fans are not happy.

Fox host Pete Collins went as far as to say, "Will Campbell at 14 pressures on 53 dropbacks in Super Bowl LX was a huge reason the Patriots lost."

It was the most allowed by a player in a game during the 2025 campaign, regular season, or playoffs. It is also the most allowed in the NFL postseason since 2014.

After that performance, the 22-year-old declined to speak to the media, as reported by the Boston Globe. Though the Patriots' head coach did address the media, he did not speak about how Will Campbell performed but rather reflected on the OL as a whole.

"Nobody played good enough for us to win," he said. While fans agreed with the coach's assessment, they remained critical of the rookie's performance while discussing the trend on X.

Fans Rain Down On Will Campbell After Super Bowl Loss

One fan said, "The patriots maybe could’ve used Diabate instead of Will Campbell, actually." The fan mentioned Mohamoud Diabate, a linebacker for the Cleveland Browns. However, they might have been joking, since the Browns have had their share of O-line problems.

Another user wrote, "We really wasted a 4th round pick on the worst LT in the league I'm done with this s**t💔✌️". The New England Patriots drafted Campbell in the first round (4th overall) of the 2025 NFL Draft. Could they have gone for another player? One fan didn't agree.

"Will Campbell has been getting abused this whole playoff run," wrote one user. The 22-year-old indeed has struggled in the 2025 NFL playoffs as he has allowed the most pressures, 29, in the NGS era (since 2016) in four games.

A user doubled down on the above comment, replying, "*Whole Season." The user implied Campbell's poor performance lasted the entire season, not just the playoffs. He played 782 offensive snaps, allowing 5 sacks and 26 total pressures while committing seven penalties in the regular season.
