“Real Housewives of NFL”: Tom Brady offers humorous message over A.J. Brown situation

Tom Brady has seen plenty of wide receiver drama throughout his NFL career, so receiver A.J. Brown's latest situation didn't surprise him.

Speaking on the latest episode of the New Heights podcast, the seven-time Super Bowl champion jokingly compared the recurring storylines around NFL receivers to the "Real Housewives of the NFL."

“I swear to God, it’s just deja vu. I’ve been seeing the same s*** since 2000 when I came into the league… It’s like the ‘Real Housewives of the NFL,” said Tom Brady in his recent conversation with Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce on the New Heights podcast.

Brady said Brown's situation reflects a league-wide pattern, explaining that wide receivers often grow frustrated because they receive fewer opportunities than any other offensive position.

“And it’s a hard thing. Like, they’re working hard to get the ball," said Brady in his conversation at the New Heights podcast (YouTube @newheightshow). "They don’t get it. So they get frustrated so easily.”

Brady added that one of his biggest responsibilities as a quarterback was managing receivers' emotions from week to week. As he believed an unhappy receiver could take a lot away from the team's performance.

“One game, you’re gonna get 11 and one game, you’re gonna get three,” the seven-time Super Bowl champ said. “I can’t have you, like, the happiest guy in the world when you catch 11, or the most miserable guy on the team when you catch three.”

Turning to Brown specifically, Brady said he should be happier with his new team, as his style of play fits perfectly with the offensive philosophy the New England Patriots employ.

Brady believes Brown's frustrations could ease if he's featured more consistently in his new offensive system.

Brown was traded to the New England Patriots after months of speculation, and now that he's reunited with Mike Vrabel, Tom Brady believes his game will flourish.

“A.J. wanted to be involved. I covered a lot of those Eagles games. That passing offense isn’t — that’s not what that team’s known for. So now he’s actually going to a team where they are more known for their passing offense,” said Tom Brady in the same conversation with the New Heights podcast.

Brown's frustrations with his role in Philadelphia became a recurring storyline over the past two seasons, making Brady's comments another perspective on how a change in environment could impact the star receiver moving forward.
