Ravens’ John Harbaugh Reflects on Watching the Browns as a Fan

Browns fans are frustrated with their franchise, and that includes the Baltimore Ravens’ head coach, John Harbaugh.
In a press conference before the final showdown of the 2025 season, Harbaugh was asked if he reacts to the Browns’ plays as a coach or a fan, to which he replied, “I’m in fan mode to be honest with ya.”
He further said while watching the games, he questions what and why they are doing.
“I'm complaining about the play calls,” he laughed.
“I'm wondering why they didn't do this or that. What are they thinking? They have the clock management.”
The 4-16 Browns have made some questionable calls this season that have made headlines.
Most recently, rookie Shedeur Sanders was called after he threw an easy interception to Jerry Jeudy against the Steelers.
The 2nd and 5 was Sanders’ second interception in the game and highlighted his flaw of miscalculation and making hasty throws.
Dion Sanders, his father and a former NFL legend, was visibly disappointed at the throw, and Tony Romo warned him against such mistakes.
“Shedeur knows he wants that one back,” Romo said. “That's as poor a decision as he's made in his young career. He's young, but you can't just throw it up for grabs.”
Stefanski’s Clock Management
Another controversial call involving Sanders was during against the Buffalo Bills in Week 15. Head coach Kevin Stefanski made a call during fourth down, which backfired after Greg Rousseau followed Sanders, resulting in two sacks against him in the matchup.
The said play calls have become the reason Stefanski might lose his job. He was under heavy scrutiny after messing up call duties by giving Sanders the incorrect replacement play-call wristband and losing his call sheet.
In Week 15, the Browns were penalized for allowing too many linemen on the field and making an early start.
Such incidents with only 3 victories have irked fans so much that they booed Stefanski in Week 15.
Browns expert Anthony Lima said, “It was bizarre. That was not a good moment for Browns’ fans that were there.”
Although the Browns frustrate Harbaugh with their tendency to lose, his team has benefited after the Steelers were defeated by the Browns on Sunday.
The Ravens can still hope to make it to the playoffs and will face Aaron Rodgers and Co. in week 18 to fight for the AFC North title.
