"Pro Bowl Has Become a Joke": Emmanuel Acho Takes a Dig at NFL Following Shedeur Sanders Call-Up

Former Cleveland Browns player Emmanuel Acho couldn’t help but rant about how “laughable” the Pro Bowl had become.

He appeared on the Speakasy talk show and gave examples of some players who didn’t deserve to be in the Pro Bowl, including Shedeur Sanders.

“The Pro Bowl is something that has become laughable, and we can't say it's a Shedeur Sanders issue, but Shedeur is the latest poster child for it,” he said.

Acho’s statement wasn’t directly meant for Shedeur. In his own words, "I don't want Sheduer to get hit directly."

The Pro Bowl became a joke for Acho when Tyler Huntley made the Pro Bowl as the fourth Alternate. When He also took Drake Maye and Jacoby Brissett's names. He believed that the Pro Bowl, which was once equivalent to All-Pro, now held no importance.

According to him, the recent addition of Sanders only solidifies the fact that the Pro Bowl cannot be taken seriously like it used to be back in the day.

"How in the world can an all-pro be at the Pro Bowl and be looking at an individual who had 10 interceptions to seven touchdowns? How can an All-Pro be at the Pro Bowl and be looking at Tyler Huntley, who only started four games?" Now, Acho makes a point that some might find hard to digest, but checking the true trajectory of the Pro Bowl since its conception in 1951, some of what he says holds true.

Acho then stated the decreasing importance of the Pro Bowl might force many players not take part in it in the upcoming years.

"The Pro Bowl has lost its significance, and ultimately, you are going to cost players to start to skip the Pro Bowl."

While some show criticism for the Pro Bowl, Sanders gets support from none other than his own father.

Deion Sanders' cryptic message for Shedeur Sanders

Despite the fans' disappointment, Deion Sanders sent an encouraging message to his son, Shedeur Sanders.

He took to X and stated that the 23-year-old should take full advantage of the opportunity and prove his doubters wrong.

"Take advantage of that Opportunity that's lingering around! You are a game changer a go-getter, a mover & a shaker. It has to be GO for you. What's the hesitation, what's the question & what's wrong! Nothing! Get yo butt in the game & win, let's go baby."

He became the first fifth-round rookie Pro Bowler just after the Los Angeles Rams' Puka Nacua. The Pro Bowl will be played on February 3rd, at the Moscone Center, San Francisco.

Does Shedeur deserve to be in the Pro Bowl after an underwhelming season? Let us know in the comments!
