President Trump Takes Credit for John Harbaugh’s Giants Hiring Following Latest Interview

Just days after the New York Giants hired John Harbaugh, President Donald Trump made a prediction.

“They got a great coach. I like this coach, I like his brother. About three months ago, they came to see me at the White House, with their mother and father... He’s going to do well with the Giants... I did put out a strong word, hire coach Harbaugh.”

President Trump referred to the time when the Harbaugh brothers visited the White House back in July 2025. Then months later, when news of Harbaugh's departure from the Ravens broke, President Trump wrote on social media, "HIRE JOHN HARBAUGH, FAST. HE, AND HIS BROTHER, ARE TOTAL WINNERS!!!"

John Harbaugh took a moment to thank President Trump for the endorsement during his introductory press conference.

“It feels really great and I tell ya, I also noticed that he said, ‘John, take the job!!’ It’s cool and it’s sports and everybody’s excited, everybody follows it. At every level, people follow football.”

Harbaugh was one of the longest-tenured NFL coaches until the Ravens fired him following a disappointing season. He left Baltimore with a Super Bowl and an incredible record of 180-113-0. His move to the Giants has already been praised by a franchise legend.

Giants Legend Eli Manning Backs John Harbaugh

Not just President Donald Trump, but the New York Giants' legend Eli Manning also feels that John Harbaugh is their guy. After a dismal 4-13 record last season, the team needed a strong leader.

"It's just unbelievable, a person that's had great success in the NFL. It just could not be a better fit. I'm so excited for him, I've had some long conversations with him about this, and I think he's gonna do an unbelievable job and excited about getting the Giants back on track."

Harbaugh has the potential to pull the best out of his quarterbacks, and Lamar Jackson is a great example of it. He could reverse the effects of Dart's challenging rookie season.
