President Trump Makes Honest Super Bowl Admission With Support About Friend's Team

President Donald Trump shared his opinion on one of the Super Bowl finalists.

While the President won't be making the trip to watch the game, he talked about the six-time Super Bowl winners New England Patriots, in a video posted on 28th January.

"Bob Kraft is a friend of mine, and I've watched that team, and I got to hand it to him. He had the great team, and now he's got the great team again. They made a fantastic draft pick; the quarterback is great."

Patriots owner Robert Kraft has been a great friend of the President since the 1990s. Back in 2011, when Kraft lost his wife to cancer, President Trump left a heartfelt message for his friend.

Now, with the Patriots in the Super Bowl, President Trump appreciated his friend's picks in the draft. The 2024 3rd overall pick, Drake Maye, has been solid. He has played 17 games this season and recorded a passer rating of 113.5 with 4,394 yards, 31 touchdowns, and 8 interceptions.

In the playoffs alone, the QB has thrown for 533 yards, 4 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions in 3 games. He has rushed 141 yards as well, breaking Tom Brady's record in the playoffs. The 23-year-old quarterback is expected to make the Super Bowl final an interesting matchup.

"But it's going to be a very, I think it's going to be a tremendous game. I hope it's going to be a tremendous game," he said.

Both the Seahawks' and Patriots' QBs are playing the best football of their lives.

And while President Trump didn't back a team to win, his track record with the Patriots has been solid as well.

President Donald Trump's 2017 Prediction

Back in 2017, President Trump predicted the New England Patriots would beat the Atlanta Falcons in the Super Bowl Final.

"I think they are going to do very well," he said. "Tom is a winner. Coach is a great coach. I think the other team is fantastic. I think it's a fantastic team - turned out to be a good quarterback. But there is less pressure on the Patriots because they have been there. Once you've won, once you've done it, and they have done it, there's a lot less pressure. So we'll see what happens. But you have to stick up for your friends, right?"

And soon enough, the Patriots beat the Falcons 34-28 in overtime after trailing 28-3, completing the largest comeback in Super Bowl history.

It was the first Super Bowl to go to OT, with Tom Brady throwing a then-record 466 yards and James White scoring the game-winning touchdown.
