President Trump Joins Enraged NFL Fans Following Bill Belichick’s HOF Snub

The NFL world was shocked as Bill Belichick failed to get enough votes to get into the Hall of Fame. After the news broke, President Trump wrote a harsh critique.

The former Patriots Head Coach fell short, getting 40 out of 50 votes needed to become a first-ballot Pro Football Hall of Famer.

“It is the same mindset that gave pro football the new and unwatchable ‘S***’ Kickoff Rule, that made it possible for Bill Belichick to not be elected into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. “Both are ridiculous and should be overturned!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

After the snub, ESPN reported that Bill Belichick couldn't clear the 80% threshold needed to get voted into the Hall of Fame during the January 13 HOF meeting.

However, President Trump coming to the Super Bowl-winning coach's defense isn't surprising. During his first Presidential tenure in 2018, he appointed Belichick to his Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition. The former also appeared on Belichick’s “Let’s Go” podcast in 2024, and the duo remains friends.

Meanwhile, President Trump isn't the only one who spoke up for Bill Belichick either.

LeBron James, 3x Super Bowl winner Patrick Mahomes, and the NFL community expressed their disbelief at the shocking decision.

“Man, there’s no way I read that right! Right? Ain’t no WAY Bill Belichick ain’t 1st Ballot HOF!! That’s IMPOSSIBLE, EGREGIOUS, and quite frankly DISRESPECTFUL!” the NBA star posted on X.

It's not the first time the Lakers star has spoken highly of Belichick. James also praised Belichick’s achievements and later paid tribute to him again after he left the Patriots.

Meanwhile, the Kansas City Chiefs QB wrote: "Insane… don’t even understand how this could be possible." The Chiefs' QB has called Belichick the greatest coach of all time, and many fans agree with Patrick Mahomes.

"If Bill Belichick isn’t a 1st Ballot NFL Hall of Famer, then NO ONE SHOULD BE," one fan said. During his time with the Patriots, Belichick won 17 AFC East division titles and 6 Super Bowls. Former Patriot and the man who won those six rings alongside Bill Belichick, Tom Brady, said the same thing after the snub.

Meanwhile, another comment said, "Bill Belichick could have cussed out my momma and I would have voted for him for the HOF. A bad look for the entire committee."
