Tensions flared at Super Bowl LX long before the final whistle. The game, which saw the Seahawks defeat the Patriots with a 29-13 scoreline, was marked by on-field skirmishes. One incident on the sideline nearly boiled over into a full-blown fight.

With around 10 minutes left in the 2nd quarter of the game, Drake Maye completed a short pass to Stefon Diggs for 5 yards. The New England Patriots' wide receiver ran out of the sideline. Seahawks number 21, Devon Witherspoon, went after Diggs.

Soon, the whole ‌Seahawks team surrounded Diggs, and a sideline skirmish nearly broke out. Though no fists were exchanged, but they was some verbal altercation between Diggs and the Seahawks team, especially with Witherspoon. 

The officials had to step in and separate the wide receiver from the Seahawks’ number 21 while the two kept exchanging words. While things looked heated, the group was quickly separated, and once play resumed, the Patriots punted. 

The sideline incident was a key moment for Stefon Diggs during the game. He had 3 receptions in the game for 37 yards and no touchdowns. Drake Maye's struggles also contributed to the low offensive output. He had just 27 passes completed out of 43 attempts for 295 yards.

However, this wasn’t the only incident Diggs found himself in. 

Stefon Diggs was Involved in an Another Incident

In the fourth quarter of the game, Seahawks starting cornerback Josh Jobe was covering Stefon Diggs. He shoved the Patriots' receiver, causing him to fall and sparking fears of another altercation.

Diggs got back and headed towards the Seahawks' starting cornerback. During the exchange, Diggs made contact with Jobe’s facemask, after which Jobe reacted by swinging in Diggs’ direction. 

Officials quickly intervened to de-escalate the situation. No penalty was given to either of the teams.
