Patriots LB Christian Elliss Ditches Celebrating Teammates to Console Weeping Brother After Heartbreak

Some things are bigger than football, and the New England Patriots’ linebacker, Christian Elliss, just proved that.

Following the Denver Broncos’ heartbreaking 10-7 loss to the Patriots, linebacker Jonah Elliss couldn’t stop the tears welling up in his eyes.

As all big brothers do, Christian, instead of celebrating the AFC Championship with his teammates, went to console his brother. The NFL’s official handle even reposted the heartwarming moment on social media.

It was the best example of finding beautiful moments in the game, which can be cruel sometimes.

Some fans felt the Broncos didn’t deserve to lose and were robbed. The game was controversial when the officials ruled a fumble in favour of New England in the second quarter.

In the end, the Patriots won the game, and thus Jonah and the Broncos had to suffer a loss. The 22-year-old can be proud of his performance nonetheless, recording a couple of solo tackles and one tackle for loss.

While his story is over, Denver’s LB would hope that his brother would bring the Super Bowl home.

Christian Elliss on Consoling His Brother Jonah Elliss

Christian felt bittersweet after the Patriots defeated the Broncos.

In the post-game interview, the 27-year-old talked about how he felt consoling his brother Jonah.

“I’ve never felt anything like this. The joy of the team. But then holding my brother after the game is a feeling I never want to replicate,” he said.

He had a great outing against Denver, recording 4 tackles and a sack. However, Christian has one more game to win before he can clinch the Lombardi Trophy.

Will he and the Patriots win the Super Bowl for the first time since 2018? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
