Packers Issue Statement on Josh Jacobs’ Arrest as RB Faces Multiple Charges

On May 26, Josh Jacobs, the Green Bay Packers’ running back, was booked and arrested for multiple charges.

“Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs was arrested Tuesday and booked on several domestic violence charges, according to the Hobart-Lawrence (Wisconsin) Police Department,” ESPN wrote in a May 27 X post.

In response to the news, the franchise issued the following statement.

“We are aware of the matter involving Josh Jacobs. As it is an ongoing legal situation, we will withhold further comment,” a Packers spokesperson said in a statement to The Athletic.

In a statement, the NFL told The Athletic that it was “aware of the report” and has “been in contact with the club.”

According to an ESPN report, Jacobs, 28, was booked on charges of “battery, domestic abuse, disorderly conduct and intimidation of a victim.”

It is also reported that Jacobs faces four other misdemeanor charges. In an X post, NFL reporter Arey Pulli shared pictures of official records detailing Jacob’s bond.

“Bond is listed at $1,350 with a mandatory court appearance,” his May 27 X post read.

Josh Jacobs’ Response To His Felony Charges

Josh Jacobs, through his attorneys, has denied the charges pressed against him.

“Josh vehemently denies these allegations, and this matter is in the early stages of investigation with important evidence that has not yet been made public. We ask for fairness and restraint while the judicial process takes its course,” Jacobs' attorneys David Chesnoff, Richard Schonfeld and Clarence Duchac said in a statement.

ESPN noted that the Hobart-Lawrence PD was dispatched on May 23 to look into a disturbance involving Jacobs. According to an ESPN report, officials have refused to comment on the case.

“This remains an active and ongoing investigation. No further information will be released at this time,” Michael Renkas, chief of the Hobart-Lawrence PD, said in a statement.

Currently, the running back is halfway through a four-year, $48 million deal he had signed with the franchise in 2024 free agency. Last season, Jacobs rushed for 929 yards and scored 13 touchdowns across 15 games.
