"Not On Us": Steelers Stars Fire Warning Shot to Myles Garrett Ahead of Browns vs Steelers Clash

Dec 26, 2025, 3:05 PM CUT

Myles Garrett is looking to enter the history books against the Steelers on Sunday. But two stars from Pittsburgh have warned the Browns player.

On Cam Heyward's Not Just Football podcast, the Steelers' blocking running backs, Jaylen Warren and Kenneth Gainwell, have said that they will not let Garrett set that record against them.

Heyward's co-host, Hayden Walsh, asked the RBs if they are as serious as the team's OL in blocking Garrett. "We definitely don't want the record to be set on us," Gainwell said. Warren was also on the same page, saying, "You're not setting that on us."

Gainwell and Warren's words are no shot in the air. Even thier head coach, Mike Tomlin, while calling Garrett the “slam-dunk defensive player of the year,” has said that he has a plan to stop the man from reaching the sacks record.

“Everybody gets help against Myles Garrett,” Tomlin said. “I just finished watching the San Francisco tape. Trent Williams got help. So certainly he’s (Dylan Cook) going to get help.”

They have been successful in stopping him before when the two teams met in Week 6 of the 2025 NFL season. The Steelers won the game in a 23-9 scoreline, and kept Garrett off most of the score sheet with only 2 assisted tackles in the game.

But Tomlin also said that getting help has not slowed down the 2023 Defensive Player of the Year. “I imagine most of those are not 1-on-1 plays. We’re going to do our due diligence, but we’re not going to act like or pretend that we’re reinventing the wheel here," he added.

Myles Garrett will be looking for two birds with one arrow

Overall, Garrett has 31 solo tackles, 15 assists, 13.0 sacks, and 1 fumble recovery in 15 games versus the Steelers in his career. These are great numbers, right? But there is a piece missing.

If he makes this 14 sacks, he will not only be the player with the most sacks in a season, but that will also add Steelers QB and 4-time MVP Aaron Rodgers to his list of prey.

"He's a great one. He'll probably get propped up a little bit higher than some of the others," Garrett said of his hopes of sacking Rodgers. "I'd be honored to put him in the graveyard. And definitely a lot of respect for what he's done in his career because he's special."

Will this be the game in which Garrett can fulfill two of his wishes?
