“Not Going to Be Tolerated”: Browns WR Jerry Jeudy Faces Harsh Verdict After Poor Performance

Jerry Jeudy looked poised for stardom after his breakout 2024 campaign, but 2025 told a different story. The Cleveland Browns receiver led the NFL with nine drops, and now an analyst has issued a brutal assessment ahead of the upcoming season.

While speaking on the Ultimate Cleveland Sports Show on June 5, Garrett Bush assessed Jeudy's 2025 campaign, warning that the team may not be willing to overlook another disappointing season.

"Now, one thing that we've seen in practice: too many drop rocks from Jerry Jeudy," the analyst explained. "Too many dropped passes. Fat passes from Deshaun Watson—dropped passes. Passes from Shedeur Sanders—that's dropped. And the inconsistent level at which he's dropping the ball is not going to be tolerated."

According to Pro Football Focus, Jeudy experienced a disappointing 2025 campaign, earning a 58.5 overall grade and a 57.9 receiving grade, both ranking near the bottom among the qualified receivers. On top of that, he managed just 50 catches for 602 yards and two touchdowns, while averaging 12.0 yards per reception.

The host feels that another inconsistent season from Jeudy could create significant challenges.

“When you've got two receivers that you drafted in the first and second rounds who are going to get minutes, and you've got a guy like Isaiah Bond who has the best skill set in terms of running deep routes and getting behind the secondary, well, that's a recipe for disaster for veterans,” said Bush.

The Cleveland Browns drafted two wide receivers, KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston. These signings should serve as a warning sign for Jeudy.

Adding to his situation, the Browns are becoming a younger team by trading away Myles Garrett and planning changes with Deshaun Watson, which affects Jeudy’s role.

However, he has come forward determined to turn his fortunes around this year.

Jerry Jeudy Eyes a Return to Pro Bowl Form in 2026

The Browns are bolstering their wide receiver corps. However, in the eyes of Browns general manager Andrew Berry, it hasn't changed the vision for the team's incumbent WR1, Jerry Jeudy.

"Zero impact on Jerry," Berry said after Day 2 of the draft. "He's our bell cow."

Following a disastrous season last year, Jeudy, too, is hopeful that this season will turn his fortunes around. He believes he can return to his Pro Bowl form despite a now-crowded receivers room.

"I'm very confident," Jeudy said after the Browns' fifth OTA practice Wednesday, as per ESPN. "I'm going to always be confident by the amount of work I just put in throughout the offseason. I'm just waiting for it to transition to on the field."

In an attempt to correct his drop problems, Jeudy dedicated part of his offseason to concentration-focused drills. He mentioned that his preparation includes ball drills, small ball work, and wall drills.

That said, do you think Jerry Jeudy will be able to bounce back? Let us know in the comments.
