The NFL postseason has already started pressuring everyone involved, and emotions are running high. Most recently, a sideline spat between Sirianni and Brown, which was most certainly going to escalate, has gone viral. 

In the second quarter during the wildcard game against the San Fransico 49ers, the Philadelphia Eagles’ security, Big Dom, had to pull A.J. Brown away from his head coach, Nick Sirianni.

In Sunday’s game, Sirianni was seen rushing towards the wide receiver and yelling at him. Brown, not okay with that, moved closer towards him and started arguing instead of backing off.  Brown was seen yelling frustratedly, even after Sirianni was gone.

NFL insider Mike Garafolo reported that the spat was not a major one, and both entities would look past it, even if the clock was reset, because of this. 

“I’m not sure this even registers as a top-10 A.J. Brown controversy. Sirianni told him to get off the field, seemingly to avoid a penalty for too many men. Jordan Mailata was close, too. There was time on the play clock and it got reset, though,” Garafolo posted on X.

According to sources, the Eagles were sure to be penalized for having too many men on the field. Both left tackle Jordan Mailata and Brown were going to cause a yellow flag disaster, which would have cost them even more in a losing 19-23 game. 

While their exact words remain unknown, Sirianni reiterated Garafolo and said that “we're just fine, thanks,” and that he and Brown would “go back to loving each other.” 

Not the first time AJ Brown had heated conversations

This heated exchange marked another one of Browns’ controversies this season. In November this year, Brown was on a Twitch stream and made a few comments about his team and the state they were in. 

When gamer JankyRondo asked if everything was fine, Brown replied with: “No. Where have you been? Family’s good. Everything else? No.”

He further called his situation a “s***show,” and said the video game he was playing was “the only highlights of damn football I’m living right now.”

When asked about those comments, Sirianni said they were unclear, and he didn’t know what to make of them. He clarified that Brown was well involved in that game, and he only considered their upfront interactions. The rest is speculation, and he doesn’t pay attention to it.

The recent spat doesn’t help since Brown has been complaining about the team’s offence for a while now. With this game, the Eagles lost their championship reign and were eliminated from the 2025 season, and the rumors of Brown’s trade grew stronger.
