NFL Makes Stern Decision on Super Bowl Ads With Latest Move

As the Patriots and Seahawks get ready to clash on February 8 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, there's one change. The NFL is tightening the rules around the commercials for Super Bowl LX.

They banned the prediction market commercials ahead of the 2025 season.

Companies like Kalshi and Polymarket have already announced billions of dollars in funding. They can advertise different aspects of their businesses, except the ones banned by the NFL.

The move isn't surprising. While the MLS and the NHL have allowed prediction market commercials, the NFL believes it is against the integrity of the game. Back in December 2025, Jeff Miller, an executive vice president for the NFL, made a clear statement in front of a congressional committee.

"We are particularly troubled that several sports-related futures contracts have been launched nationwide, including in jurisdictions where sports betting has not been legalized."

The NFL is holding firm on that same decision for the Super Bowl as well. At the same time, sports betting ads will still be televised. However, the NFL has kept it limited to six ads in total.

As the most-watched televised event of the year, the Super Bowl has an average viewership of 127.7 million in the 2025 season. For a mere 30-60 second spot on NBC, the commercials could cost $10 million or more. And Fox charged $8 million for each advertisement unit sold.

Big Things Are Planned for the Super Bowl

Brands like Pepsi, Him & Hers, Toyota, State Farm, OpenAI, and Liquid Death have already booked their slots for the commercials.

And big names are already hitting the TV screens even before the big day. American car manufacturer Cadillac is debuting its first-ever F1 livery during the Super Bowl. Peyton Manning and Post Malone have already teamed up for a new commercial. Several other celebrities are also featured.

NHL Champion T.J. Oshie and Olympic snowboarder and gold medalist Chloe Kim are teaming up for a special ad. The commercial, directed by 'Top Gun: Maverick's' Joseph Kosinski, also features actor Lewis Pullman.
