On Thursday, Tony Romo's off-field troubles took center stage after the former Dallas Cowboys quarterback and CBS NFL analyst was arrested in Milwaukee on suspicion of operating a vehicle while under the influence, per a report by Field Level Media.

According to Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office records, officials took the former quarterback into custody on July 23 and released him later that night on bail. The 46-year-old was pulled over by the officials while driving south on Interstate 43.

Under Wisconsin law, a first-offense OWI is typically treated as a civil violation rather than a criminal charge, with fines ranging from $150 to $300, but despite that, the accused will have to address the courts.

According to Field Level Media's report, Romo was pulled over around 6:18 pm. Milwaukee County's report further specified that the former Cowboys QB "performed poorly" on the field sobriety tests administered to him.

Per BBC, local media suggested that this was Romo's first offense involving an OWI. Depending on how the hearing goes, he may be asked to pay a fine and have his driver's license suspended.

Being a Burlington native, the former Dallas Cowboys quarterback is in his home state for the Wisconsin Amateur Championship golf tournament, which runs from Monday through Thursday in West Bend.

Although he has not commented on his arrest so far, he has spoken about being part of the golf tournament.

When the NFL enters the offseason, Tony Romo swaps his analyst's microphone for golf gear, returning every summer to his hometown of Burlington for another run at the Wisconsin Amateur Championship.

"Just the challenge of it. It is as tough as you are going to play. I think in almost any golf tournament. You get the best guys around, the competition, and then the guys who work with the WSGA — they are really special people," Romo told TMJ4 TV.

Despite beginning the final round well off the pace, he battled back to the top as no competitor finished the tournament under par.

"I am competitive in both. I am just better at football. But I think we are gaining strides," Romo said.

Well, Romo appears to be having the time of his life on the golf course, and his recent arrest doesn't seem to have affected him much.
